WoW is back for her 2nd week of residency at Good Arts Collective and this time around, the eclecticism is increasing. Joining WoW at this performance will be the piano-driven, avant-garde cabaret stylings of Carlisle Evans Peck and the genre-bending instrumental trio A Sprig of That. Take in this unique night of music while surrounded by a gallery of original visual art by Jen of WoW. A night for all the senses, and one not to be missed!
Waltzing on Waves
Waltzing on Waves is the solo act of Jen Bluhm, a Twin Cities-based genre-fluid artist who carries a special appreciation for the bittersweet places, the preciously awkward paces, and the borderline absurd spaces that music can identify and elevate in the hearts and minds of humans. She knows her voice well, accessing techniques and devices from many different styles of music. She is a veteran songwriter of 25 years, a film composer, and a multi-instrumentalist. In addition to writing and performing her own music, Jen is now available as a freelance vocalist for session work and events. A great passion of Jen's is Neurodiversity/Mental Health Advocacy, as she highly values the beauty and depth that humans who are wired differently contribute to our world. Waltzing On Waves is currently at Side Town Studios recording her self-titled debut album to be released this year.
Carlisle Evans Peck
Equally at home in a wooded glade or on a cabaret stage, Carlisle Evans Peck's music conjures a melancholia of intense beauty. By turns explosive and intimate, these are songs that will at once break your heart and soothe with a balm of haunting melodies and lush harmonies. An evocative songwriter and passionate pianist, Carlisle weaves intricate mythologies of love, family, nature, and queerness. He has gathered a loyal following across the Midwest for his captivating and transportive performances. He will be joined by cellist Julia Floberg, a fierce and masterful performer.
