BLISS by Sam Graber

  • Good Arts Collective 810 South 7th Street Minneapolis, MN, 55415 United States (map)

Swandive Theatre is back with another world premiere script by local playwright Sam Graber. This time we take a look at the growing opioid crisis in America.

Imagine being hooked on a drug that causes your mind to forget everything: pain, loss, regret, fear, despair. And all you are left with is happiness, complete and utter bliss. Why wouldn't you do this all the time? What if there was a place you could go and get this drug, this happiness everyday for free? You could spend the rest of your days just existing? Why wouldn't you go there?

But what if all of this actually happened and you realized it was awful? How hard would you fight to get out, how could you wrench your mind back into some semblance of rational thought to try and escape?
Would you even want to?

Bliss is post-utopian drug trip through the psyche of a woman trapped by her own choices.
Featuring: Jamie Case, Paul Rutledge, and Meg DiSciorio
